Online Amstrad CPC Emulator with Lots of Games

Posted on 12 August 2008 by Christine Lank

From the same game developer who brought us the popular Cauldron Remake, comes a JavaCPC Emulator by DevilMarkus. The Amstrad CPC was a home computer popular in Europe and that came out about the same time as the Commodore 64. You can find out more about the Amstrad CPC at Wikipedia.

Note that you have to always press the reset button located under each game when changing or leaving a page to avoid sound issues.

You can also download a portable version of the Amstrad CPC emulator from the same developer. It can be downloaded here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/javacpc.

Xiangqi: Chinese Chess

Posted on 12 June 2007 by Christine Lank

I started to learn how to play XiangQi last weekend, a really fun chess-like game. There is a cool online version of XiangQi; no plug-ins required, only a JavaScript enabled browser. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be searching for portable versions available for download as well.

Until then, if you want to learn how to play, you can check out Wikipedia and An Introduction to Xiangqi for Chess Players.

Get The Glass: 3D Online Board Game

Posted on 28 March 2007 by Christine Lank

Get the Glass! is an online board game where the object is to help the Adachi family find some milk while the milk police is in hot pursuit bent on sending them to Milkatraz. You have various timed challenges to perform (some of which are a little ridiculous) and trivia to answer along the way.

What’s really impressive about this game is the graphics. Here is a screenshot and you can check the game out for yourself at: http://www.gettheglass.com/.
